AP2, ACP, UCP, SPT, DPC, MPP and x402 look like the technical foundations of agentic commerce. They are also bids to shape its market structure—who can reach demand, whose authority travels, which functions become common infrastructure, and where control, obligation and value sit.
The value pool can be real. The infrastructure can be built. The market can still fail to form. New ecosystems depend on something harder than technology: the conditions that make every necessary participant move before the value becomes accessible. Seeing the opportunity is only the beginning. Adoption is the value thesis.
Markets can remain stable for years, then technology, infrastructure, regulation or behaviour can change where value sits and who can reach it.
